It's Cruise Day!

Yesterday the adventures began!  We had a direct flight to Fort Lauderdale, smooth, easy and we arrived half an hour early!  As is my habit, I watched a girly movie (Going the Distance, it was pretty good) and knit the whole way - the socks I started in July will be done soon - I've turned heel!

We cabbed over to Miami (interesting ride...we saw robotic self storage, Happy Ending t-shirts, a place that sells vertical, coaxial and network cable and many other sights) and checked in to the Best Western on the Bay.  Took a bit of a rest and then went for a stroll for dinner at the Crab House.  We had the seafood and salad bar, and I ate a lot of peel and eat shrimp with cocktail sauce - tastes like vacation! 

After a quick stop to check out the American candy situation at the gas station (Peanut Butter Twix why aren't you available in Canada?  Also, I'm pretty sure the people at Reese are working towards some kind of world domination - there were at least 10 Reese products in the chocolate aisle).   

After a good nights rest, we've awoken to a sunny "chilly" day in Miami - its currently 9 degrees.  We're headed out for our free continental breakfast and then off to the ship!

Honey-cruise

We're heading off for our "honeymoon" (when your wedding was as small as ours, it doesn't seem like the right word) which of course, after all the fun we had last year will be a cruise!  We'll sail from Miami to San Juan, St.Kitts and St. Maarten aboard the Celebrity Eclipse.

We will have an Aquaclass Stateroom, and while it won't be quite as swank as the Sweet Suite we had last year, we are looking forward to trying out the many healthy benefits of this spa class (Blu restaurant, relaxation lounge, Persian Garden access).  Many pictures and stories to follow...
