Day One!!

We took a taxi over to the Port of Miami at about 11am.  I giggled at the ad on top of the cab.

We had a smooth embarkation, met some nice folks from Gatineau in line and were among the first folks on the ship!  We took a nice wander around, basically being completely blown away by how beautiful the ship is.  Everything is just beautifully designed, and I'm sure that will come forth in the photos as we go.

We had lunch at Bistro on 5, which makes crepes to order and was never busy the whole time we were on the ship - especially great on day one when the buffet is mobbed!  As we enjoyed our crepes, we got the signal that our rooms were ready!

(I continued my food-o-graphy this trip, so you are looking at : Buffalo chicken crepe, bananas and nutella and trifle for dessert!)

We dropped stuff at our room and continued our exploring, going to the spa open house and draw, hitting the glorious Persian Garden for steam, aromatherapy and heated loungers (not nearly as hot as on the Century)  and we had it all to ourselves!

We made our way to Blu, the Aquaclass dining room for our first dinner. This was the first of many fabulous meals!  Seafood Napolean, cheese souflee, filet mignon, tuna, coconut pineapple creme brulee and gingersnap basket with strawberries.  Yay!

As we were heading back to deck 11 for the night we were walking through the casino and someone handed us a raffle ticket - it turned out the raffle was happening in 2 minutes so we hung around.  And then, Poker Face came on and an apparent flash mob happened, made up of the Celebrity Dancers!  Hilarity!!  They did the draw and Ron won me this!!!

All in all, a pretty awesome first day!!!
