Sunday at Sea!

As usual, I woke up at the crack of dawn when the sun came in as we sailed towards San Juan, so I went to the Morning Stretch, and I walked the windy pool deck while Ron hit the gym.  I attended the Cruise Critic Connections party - a nice event for people who follow the boards at cruisecritic.com - the Cruise Director attended and I met some nice folks - shout out to my new buddy Ken!

I met up with Ron at Speedoku.  Yes, its a suduko race.  Ron beat all the nice older ladies at the table and won a coveted Celebrity Luggage tag, a pen and the big value item - a bingo card good for any game!  More on that later...

We then ran over to Food Trivia.  We had actually hit a trivia the day before, and it was impossibly difficult.  This one being a bit better, we still didn't manage to win.  But we did meet some other nice folks - including more Canadians :)  I guess were not the only ones that like to escape winter!

The Aquaspa cafe is a nice healthy buffet, and we hit that for lunch...and discovered its self serve frozen yogurt machine...yummalicious.

As we learned last time, there are people on cruise ships whose only job is to help you shop!  We attended the Port and Shopping Show with Kyle and Shanee, our shopping guides.  We learned about what to look for in the various ports, picked up our maps and didn't win the raffle.

Sunday afternoon we attended Wine Appreciation 101 in the beautiful Moonlight Sonata dining room (this is the main dining room on the ship).  We tried 6 wines (one sparkling, 2 white, 1 rose and 2 reds), led by one of the sommeliers and learned many things including tricks to help become as awesome as he was at swirling wine in the glass!

That giant silver thing behind the sommelier is a wine tower.
Quite a ceiling feature!

As you can imagine, if you've ever seen me drink, I was pretty...light headed...after that!  Fun times!!  I recovered with a bit of penny slots.

Later on, we went and saw the Hot Glass Show on the Lawn Club.  It is simply amazing!  I could have watched that for hours - right up my crafty alley!  The artisans are really friendly and talented.  I took a lot of pictures from this, but I'll try to limit myself here...

He is swinging the piece to help make it longer!

I was amazed when they worked together like this!  Neat!

Pretty vase!  Also, the following was happening behind us...pretty!

I headed to the spa for a much needed pedicure.  I couldn't choose between carribbean blue and pink sparkles, but the friendly Maxine had a great solution: Both!!!

And then we took my pedicure out on the town for the first formal night :)

(Ron is formally checking out this piece of art outside of Blu).

We had another delicious dinner in Blu.
 Scallops

 Nicoise salad
 Amazing Mushroom risotto
 Duck
Apple dessert, with a side of cotton candy

Floating chocolate island

Then we went back to the room and watched some super high quality tv, including To Catch a Predator, which featured a guy who showed up naked to the bait house!
